Demand Accountability from Norwegian Cruise Line

IMAGINE Life inside a cage

Global hospitality company, Norwegian Cruise Line, made a public commitment in 2016 to ban the use of cages for hens in their egg supply chains worldwide. Years later, they still allow birds to suffer inside cages so small they can’t even spread their wings.

Animal Equality has joined the Open Wing Alliance to demand accountability from Norwegian, asking them to follow through on their promise and be transparent about their progress of moving away from the cruelty of cages.

  1. If Norwegian Cruise Line wants to be taken seriously and not continue to stand by animal cruelty, full transparency on your egg sourcing is a must. Animals don’t deserve life inside a cage!
  2. After 8 years of profiting off a cage-free promise, Norwegian still refuses to tell guests if it’s made progress in all its markets. All other major cruise lines are being fully transparent. Do better, Norwegian!
  3. Norwegian will never get my business as long as it supports keeping animals in cages. Stop delaying on your cage-free commitment!
  4. Why has Norwegian failed to provide transparency on its commitment of banning cages for hens? A company making billions on dollars a year has no excuse!
  5. I will never take a Norwegian cruise again after reading about how the company makes promises they don’t keep! Your customers are watching, Norwegian!
  6. I care too much about animals to ever take a Norwegian cruise… Apparently, the company allows hens in its egg supply chain to be stuffed into tiny cages unable to even spread their wings, while other cruise lines are being transparent about their progress away from the use of cages.
