Please contact Conner Prairie and urge it to hold Kroger accountable, push for a meaningful cage-free policy, and choose corporate sponsors that better reflect its values.

Dear Conner Prairie,

I’m writing to ask you to reconsider your partnership with Kroger for Symphony on the Prairie.

Conner Prairie’s commitment to education, agriculture, and stewardship makes this partnership particularly concerning. Kroger sells eggs from hens who can spend their lives confined in small cages, unable to spread their wings, walk freely, or engage in many of their natural behaviors.

And this is not an impossible problem to solve. A cage-free egg supply is 100% achievable. Major retailers including Ahold Delhaize, Target, and Costco have made meaningful cage-free commitments, demonstrating that companies like Kroger can make real progress when they choose to do so.
Instead, Kroger continues to offer excuses for failing to follow through.

I urge Conner Prairie to call on Kroger to adopt a meaningful and transparent cage-free policy and to consider animal welfare when selecting corporate sponsors and partners in the future.

Conner Prairie has an opportunity to use its influence to encourage Kroger to do better for animals. I hope you’ll choose to use that influence and expect more from the companies you partner with.
