Is Kroger lying to you? By 2025, they said every egg it sold would
be cage-free. That deadline passed.
The cages are still there, and today, millions of hens are still locked inside
them, crammed with other hens into a tiny space.
They cannot even spread their wings in their entire lives, forced to suffer
hour after hour, day after day. Many suffer broken bones,
open wounds, and chronic stress. Dead birds rot inside cages
beside the living. Kroger knows and has known for years.
This isn't surprising. Kroger has board members tied to child labor and
environmental destruction, and its pharmacies faced allegations of fueling the
opioid crisis. Its executives are making millions while people struggle to pay
for basic groceries. This is who Kroger is.
Their new slogan says, "Fresh for everyone," but "rotten for everyone" seems more
accurate. Tell Kroger, "A promise made is a promise kept.
End cages now."
