New Report Exposes Dairy Industry’s False Health Claims
MISLEADING ADVERTISING REVEALED: The study, published by Switch4Good and titled “Scientific Report on Cow’s Milk, Health and Athletic Performance,” looked into some claims made by MilkPEP, the dairy industry’s biggest marketing entity. In one case, researchers revealed that MilkPEP conducted a study that involved only seven participants—all white males of Irish descent—and used those findings to suggest that dairy benefits all athletes. In reality, about 65 percent of the world’s population is lactose intolerant, with dairy negatively affecting people of color more frequently.

According to the report, dairy is the number one source of saturated fat in the American diet. It also contains IGF-1, which has been associated with an increased risk of cancer and diabetes, and it may increase one’s relative risk for breast cancer by 80 percent.
THE DAIRY INDUSTRY IS CRUEL: Not only is dairy unhealthy, consuming it supports extreme cruelty to animals. In the dairy industry, cows must endure becoming pregnant over and over again and enduring the distress caused by their babies being permanently taken away from them after birth. This cruel practice is done so that the industry can profit off of the milk meant for the calf. Once cows in the dairy industry are around 5 years old and their milk production declines, they’ll be slaughtered.
