Rabbits Suffer in Italian Slaughterhouses
Once again, Animal Equality investigators showed the world a sad look inside an Italian rabbit slaughterhouse. This investigation revealed that oftentimes, the animals weren’t stunned as required by law, resulting in their prolonged suffering.

Circuses
Animal Equality investigators went undercover at four circuses in Spain, documenting the cruel treatment of animals used for entertainment and gathering some of the first behind-the-scenes visuals from circuses in the country. Our footage resulted in public outcry, and concerned activists took action and rescued Moses, a baboon at one of the circuses who had been kept in a cage for years. Our work along with that of other animal protection organizations led many regions and cities in Spain to ban the use of wild animals in circuses.

Neglect and Abuse Uncovered in 8 Spanish Zoos
This investigation was at the time the largest zoo investigation carried out in Spain and garnered massive media attention. Our investigators documented zoos in Jerez, Córdoba, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Elche, and Valencia. An investigator working at one of the zoos documented abuse and neglect of the animals, including a lack of veterinary care and animals being kicked.

Cruel Gassing of Minks Exposed on Fur Farms
Animal Equality released our third investigation into the mink industry in Spain. This time, revealing that workers roughly threw terrified minks into gas chambers and gassed them to death, which was a terrifying experience for the animals.

Minks Suffering in Solitary Confinement
Animal Equality’s first investigation into the Spanish mink industry revealed a rarely seen look inside mink fur farms. Investigators witnessed hundreds of minks caged in solitary confinement. Many of the animals endlessly paced and circled in their cages, a sign of severe psychological distress.

Second Mink Farm Investigation Reveals Animals Languishing in Pain
Animal Equality released its second investigation into the Spanish mink industry. The eyewitnesses documented extreme cruelty inside the farms, including minks with maggot-infested wounds and missing limbs left to languish without pain relief or veterinary care.

Monkeys Stolen from the Wild, Sold to Labs
Animal Equality exposed the suffering of macaques at the Camarles monkey farm, in Spain. Each year, between 1,500 and 2,000 macaques are stolen from their homes in the wild and shipped, often times on commercial airplanes, to the facility where they languish in barren cages before being sold to laboratories.

Investigations into Spanish Factory Farms Show Hens in Distress
Animal Equality launched a campaign exposing the cruelty inside the egg industry in Spain. Video footage obtained showed hens living inside cages among decomposing bodies, containers full of dead and dying birds, and sick and dying hens.

Horrid Abuse on Duck Farms in Germany
An investigation into one of the largest duck farms in Germany revealed that ducks were extremely confined, leading to psychological stress and illness. Many ducks were unable to stand up. Workers roughly handled them, crushed them, and even impaled them with pitchforks. Some animals there thrown in the trash while still alive.

Brutal Conditions Found on German Duck Farm
Out Investigation team went into one of the biggest duck fattening farms in Germany to document the terrible living conditions of the animals. Ducks, who are naturally semi-aquatic animals, were denied everything that's natural and meaningful to them, such as swimming or being outdoors.
