THE DETAILS: Following dialogue with Animal Equality and other animal protection organizations, Denny’s has adopted an important animal protection policy that will eliminate some of the worst abuses endured by chickens in its meat supply chain.

BACKGROUND: Over 100 leading food companies, including Burger King, Subway, Chipotle, Starbucks, and now Denny’s, have recently committed to making changes in their supply chains to address issues including overcrowding and breeding birds that grow so fast that they can barely walk.

WHAT WE’RE SAYING: “While the best thing we can do for chickens is to simply leave them off our plates, this policy will significantly reduce the suffering of birds already on factory farms while also signaling to other businesses that consumers care about animals. It’s time for other leading food companies like McDonald’s to follow suit.” – Katie Arth, Corporate Outreach Manager, Animal Equality

HOW YOU CAN HELP: Ask McDonald’s to follow Denny’s footsteps and make science-based reforms to its chicken meat supply chain.
