On January 6th, the Las Vegas City Council approved the ordinance that will put an end to selling dogs that come from puppy mills.
For those that do not know, puppy mills are dog breeding facilities that are often overcrowded and unsanitary. The dogs that are housed here are kept in small cages and do not receive adequate veterinary care, food, or socialization; it’s an absolute nightmare.
According to the Las Vegas Sun, pet stores will have two years to follow the new ruling. This is a huge step forward and hopefully, other cities will follow suit to help put an end to puppy mills.
