Dulce Ramírez has been involved in animal rights for almost 20 years, from programs to promote more compassionate food options, to actively participating in bills to criminalize animal cruelty, to the abolition of circuses and bullfighting, to legislation to include animals used for food in the country’s animal protection laws.

TRANSFORMING THE REALITY OF ANIMALS

Since 2012 she became part of Igualdad Animal, and in the last 9 years, she has conducted various investigations and coordinated the team of researchers who have documented industrial animal agriculture in Mexico. Together with her team, Ramírez has made Igualdad Animal Mexico the most effective organization dedicated to fighting cruelty to animals on farms in Mexico, passing the first farm animal legislation in the country’s history.
