French Foie Gras Farms
In 2011, Animal Equality presented a shocking investigation into the French foie gras industry. Investigators visited four ‘traditional’ farms,Josette Neuville, Grezelade, La Campagnoise, Boutieres, located in the south-east of France. Traditional farming allegedly guarantees ‘higher welfare’ conditions. However, at each of the farms visited, Animal Equality documented shocking scenes of physical violence and psychological suffering.

Momotegi Spanish Foie Gras Farm
Following Animal Equality’s expose of Spanish foie gras farms, the Health and Consumer Affairs Department initiated disciplinary action against the owner of Mugaritz, which was considered to be the world’s third best restaurant, and against the owner of a duck breeding farm that supplied ducks to be killed for foie gras.

Cruelty on Five Foie Gras Farms
Animal Equality spent time in five different foie gras farms in Spain to document the reality of what life is like for birds used for the cruel “delicacy.” Investigators documented the birds lives from when the ducklings arrive from hatcheries at only a few hours old, to when they are subjected to the force-feeding process, and finally killed.

East Anglian Pig Company Farms
We revealed shocking brutality at East Anglian Pig Company, one of the largest pork producers in the UK. Our footage showed pigs being hit on the head with iron bars, kicked by workers and thrown over gates by their back legs. We also found animals with injuries such as broken legs, prolapses, deep wounds and hernias.

Another year, another “El Toro de la Vega” festival. Once again, Animal Equality was present at the event to document the violence and work to put a stop to the cruel tradition in Spain.

Neglect and Abuse Uncovered in 8 Spanish Zoos
This investigation was at the time the largest zoo investigation carried out in Spain and garnered massive media attention. Our investigators documented zoos in Jerez, Córdoba, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Elche, and Valencia. An investigator working at one of the zoos documented abuse and neglect of the animals, including a lack of veterinary care and animals being kicked.

Cruel Gassing of Minks Exposed on Fur Farms
Animal Equality released our third investigation into the mink industry in Spain. This time, revealing that workers roughly threw terrified minks into gas chambers and gassed them to death, which was a terrifying experience for the animals.

Mink Farms

Platanito – Toro de La Vega
Determined to end the violent “El Toro de la Vega” bull killing festival, Animal Equality investigators once again went to the event to document it and raise awareness about the cruel spectacle.
