Animal Equality attempted to deliver a letter to Mark Hopkins, Managing Director of Dell Technologies Ireland, at Dell’s Dublin offices. The letter called on Dell to address the role of senior executive Kevin Brown, who also serves on Kroger’s Board of Directors.

Dell staff refused to accept the letter. But refusing a letter doesn’t make the issue go away.

Tell Dell: It’s time to act

Dell should not ignore concerns about animal suffering simply because they are raised outside its own business operations.

Join Animal Equality in calling on Dell Technologies to remove Kevin Brown from its leadership while he continues to serve on Kroger’s Board of Directors.

Dear Dell Technologies Leadership,

I am writing to ask Dell Technologies to review the continued employment of Kevin Brown, Chief Supply Chain Officer and Vice President of Global Operations, given his position on Kroger’s board of directors.

Kroger has retreated from its previous commitment to source cage-free eggs, leaving millions of hens confined to restrictive wire cages. The company’s decision has generated concern among customers, investors, and animal advocates who believe companies should honor meaningful animal welfare commitments.

As a Kroger director, Mr. Brown has a responsibility to help oversee the company and its long-term decisions. I believe Dell should consider whether his involvement in Kroger’s leadership is consistent with the standards Dell expects from its own senior executives.

I respectfully ask Dell Technologies to review this situation and take appropriate action if Mr. Brown’s outside leadership responsibilities conflict with Dell’s values.
