Animal Equality activists
have taken to Paris to demand that foie
gras be removed from the VIP menu
at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Fueled by the support of over
60,000 concerned citizens,
Olympic medalists,
veterinarians, and world-leading experts,
we came knocking at the door of the Paris
2024 Organizing Committee.
Joined by local French activists
on the ground, we were on a mission
to show the Committee Members the cruelty
involved in foie gras production
and to urge decision-makers to remove
foie gras from the Olympic Games’ menu.
A beacon for the best of humanity,
the Games inspire
people around the world
to admire and accomplish wondrous things.
The event sets an example to others.
Foie gras goes entirely
against the ethos of the Games.
Made by force-feeding,
the industry causes excruciating
psychological and physical pain
to millions of ducks and geese every year.
It is so wicked that it’s
actually a crime to produce
in over a dozen countries.
Does the Olympic Organizing Committee
really want to be remembered
for supporting suffering?
Is that the legacy that they want?
The Committee's decision to serve
foie gras made by force feeding
has sparked public outrage
amongst the international community.
That's why Animal Equality is here today,
with our supporters having sent multiple
letters, 15,000 emails,
and stormed social media.
Our message is simple,
but it is loud and it is clear:
we will not tolerate animal abuse.
Our team lit up the dark night
sky and shone a light across Paris,
revealing the plight of ducks
and geese exploited for foie gras.
No animal deserves
to live a life of misery
on a farm, to then
be slaughtered for human consumption.
It's time to prove that we can celebrate
without animal abuse.
Join us.
Stand up for animals today.
