Fighting for the Rights of Chickens in the European Union
On May 24, 2023, Animal Equality joined a discussion at the EU Commission in Brussels about our petition filed to end the breeding of fast-growing chickens. The goal of the discussion was to decide whether to leave the petition open or close it. Following a constructive conversation, the European Government decided to leave the petition open! This is a decision that could positively impact billions of lives across Europe, and it is a clear sign that the European Government is willing to protect animals.

we're bringing the voice of chickens
directly to the European Union
just a few months ago animal equality
filed a petition to end the breeding of
fast-growing chickens these animals grow
so large so quickly that their bones
cannot handle the weight they suffer for
broken bones and organ failure some
cannot even walk to their food or water
because of their unnaturally large size
today the European commission made an
important decision whether to leave our
petition open or close it I'm happy to
share with you that the decision has
been made to leave the petition open
this is a decision that could positively
impact billions of lives across Europe
and it's a clear message that the
European government is willing to
protect animals this is a crucial step
forward for chickens but we couldn't
have done it without people like you
thank you for your commitment to animals
and remember there's no limit to what we
can accomplish next
