Animal equality investigators have documented the cruelty
inside Mexico's dairy industry.
This is the first time that the abuse of cows
and calves in Mexican farms has been documented.
Contrary to popular beliefs,
a cow cannot produce milk constantly.
They only produce it to feed their babies.
Farmers forcibly inseminate her
to initiate the cycle of milk production.
Just like humans, she'll give birth
after a nine month long pregnancy.
This cow has given birth to two calves, a male and a female.
Each one of these siblings will have different faiths,
but both equally cruel.
He'll be sent to the slaughterhouse in a few days.
He'll be sold as veal meat.
She'll be forced to produce milk over the next few years
until her milk production declines.
She'll be sent to the slaughterhouse.
Then cows, just like any other mother,
have a strong maternal instinct
and try to protect their newborn babies.
However, they'll be separated a few minutes
after their birth and they'll never see each other again.
They suffer for weeks due to this separation.
They call and look for each other nonstop,
but in vain, the calves are
locked in cages so small, they can barely move Desperately.
They look for a little bit of contact with someone else,
Despite the need to be with their mother.
They'll never drink the milk she has produced for them.
They'll be fed artificial milk
ill, many of them will die during their first days of life.
They're the victims of dairy consumption.
One of the cruelest practices in this industry is dehorning.
Farmers Cut the cow's horns without anesthesia in order
to handle her more easily as she cannot defend herself.
The horns of a cow have a similar sensitivity
as that of our teeth.
It is a traumatic and extremely painful mutilation.
Each cow is branded with a hot iron to identify her.
These serious and deep burns won't receive veterinary care.
They also cut her tail with scissors
or with a tight rubber band that stops the blood flow
until the tissues die and the tail falls off.
Since the food she's given can contain pieces of metal,
farmers forcibly stick magnets in our
stomach to take them out.
Cows are genetically selected to produce huge amounts
of milk, which cause them painful infections.
In their S such as mastitis,
they're milked twice a day with machines.
Farmers take about eight gallons
of milk every day causing them injuries, infections,
and bleeding in theirs.
Cows are often deprived of veterinary care as long
as their injuries don't affect their milk production.
A cow used for milk production doesn't die
from natural causes.
Just like a calf,
a cow is killed when her milk production levels decrease.
A after years of abuse,
her life will end in a slaughterhouse
where she'll be shot and stabbed.
She'll bleed to death hanging upside down in agony.
Please help end this cruelty.

and cruelty-free plant-based alternatives.
