About Animal Equality
Animal Equality is an international organization working with society, governments, and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals.
Dear animal advocate,
This year, we faced powerful industries, broken promises, and enormous challenges. But we kept one thing at the center of everything we did: the animals.
Across the world, we exposed cruelty, fought for stronger laws to protect animals, and challenged some of the largest companies on the planet. When Ahold Delhaize failed to meet its promises to animals, we fought back—and helped secure changes that will spare millions of hens and pigs from cages every year.
But ending suffering also means changing how we treat animals in our daily lives. Through Love Veg, we are helping people around the world eat fewer animal products while making plant-based foods easier to choose.
None of this work is easy. Real change never is.
But every investigation, every campaign, every meal changed, and every animal spared from suffering moves us closer to the world we are fighting for.
And we will keep fighting until we get there.

A global movement to end cages
A cage-free future
Hundreds of millions of hens still spend their lives confined in cages, unable to spread their wings. Animal Equality is a leading force fighting to change that.
Protecting hens
New campaigns against Kroger, along with continued pressure on Marriott hotels, Forno de Minas (Brazil), and Mercadona (Spain), are demanding these companies honor previous cage-free commitments.
12 million hens will be spared from cages when Kroger fulfills its commitment.
Pushing the EU to end cages for all animals
Through powerful demonstrations in Brussels and expert appeals to the European Commission, we continue pressing for the long-promised reforms to end cages and the killing of male chicks in the European Union.
Exposing cruelty inside the egg industry
For the first time in Argentina, we documented the mistreatment of hens in industrial egg farms, revealing another hidden practice behind egg production.
Moving governments toward stronger protections
We mobilized hundreds of supporters in the United Kingdom, urging the government to end the use of cages for hens.
Love Veg, Animal Equality’s plant‑based program
You’re making compassionate eating easier than ever.
Plant-based meals for soccer fans
We shared new and free recipes inspired by the world’s largest soccer tournament.
Plant-based options for 2+ million students
Vegan meals are now required in all school cafeterias in Spain.

We renewed our partnership with the Colmenas community center network in Mexico to continue bringing free plant-based cooking workshops to the communities it serves.

Reached thousands of students through school talks and inspired new audiences by partnering with new public figures to support our 21-Day Plant-Powered Challenge.

Promoted a 10-Point Plant-Based Plan among Members of Parliament in the United Kingdom.

End Factory Farming
You’re exposing cruelty and pushing to end it.
Turning promises into protections
The recent Animal Welfare Strategy for England reflects years of advocacy. Now, we’re working to turn those commitments into legal protections for millions of farmed animals.
Stopping the Scottish salmon industry
With new footage, we exposed blinded and wounded salmon at a farm supplying major supermarkets. We also secured the release of previously withheld inspection reports, revealing millions of undisclosed fish deaths.
Exposing cruelty
Our first-ever investigation into deer slaughter in Spain led to a formal legal complaint.
Taking the conversation to new audiences
Our book, The Meat Factory, reached one of Italy’s biggest cultural stages at the Turin International Book Fair.

End Force-Feeding
Produced by force-feeding ducks and geese through metal tubes, foie gras is facing growing opposition around the world.
Keeping the pressure on the UK government
Following the delivery of 315,000 signatures, we brought together scientists, legal experts, and advocates in Parliament to help protect the government’s commitment to ban foie gras imports.
