Volunteer Legal Researcher

In this role, you will assist our Legal Advocacy Counsel with research-based projects in support of Animal Equality’s legislative initiatives and strategic litigation. 

Position Title: Volunteer Legal Researcher
Reports to: Legal Advocacy Counsel

Position Location: Remote
Duration: Varies by individual project
Terms: Ongoing, Approximately 5-10 hours per week as needed

Responsibilities:

• Searching for, reading through, and collating/annotating webpages, documents, images, and other materials related to false-advertising (“humane-washing”), legislation, and other matters

Requirements:

• Familiar with Google search (Boolean) functionalities
• Comfortable using Google Docs and/or Microsoft Office
• Knowledgeable about farmed animal issues
• Legal research skills are useful, although not required
