Dear Dell Technologies Leadership,

I am writing as a concerned supporter of responsible and ethical corporate leadership regarding the leadership roles held by Kevin Brown, Chief Supply Chain Officer and Vice President of Global Operations at Dell Technologies.

Mr. Brown also serves on the board of Kroger, which has faced growing public concern over its decision to scale back its commitment to sourcing cage-free eggs. Millions of hens in Kroger’s supply chain remain confined to wire cages where they cannot perform basic natural behaviors such as spreading their wings.

As a member of Kroger’s board, Mr. Brown has an important role in corporate oversight and accountability. His continued leadership position at Dell therefore raises questions about how Dell evaluates the conduct and outside corporate responsibilities of its senior executives.

I respectfully ask Dell Technologies to review Mr. Brown’s continued position with the company in light of his role at Kroger and the concerns surrounding Kroger’s animal welfare commitments.

Dell has emphasized the importance of responsible business practices and integrity. I hope the company will ensure that its leadership reflects those values.

Thank you for your consideration.

Dell: Where “sustainability” is linked to cruelty

Kevin Brown, the Executive Vice President of Global Operations and Chief Supply Chain Officer of Dell, Inc., positions himself as a sustainability champion.

But Dell has been associated with child labor in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Now, another company under his watch is embroiled in a scandal.

Kevin sits on Kroger’s board, where he earns more than $300,000 a year.

At Kroger, he’s directly responsible for the suffering of tens of millions of animals.

As the second largest grocer in the U.S., Kroger once promised to stop selling eggs from caged hens. For years, it reassured concerned consumers it was following through.

But Kroger abandoned that promise—leaving millions of animals to pay the price.
