Pauline van der Meer Mohr: Animals are suffering under your watch
Caged Hens in Ahold Delhaize’s Supply Chain
Under the leadership of Pauline van der Meer Mohr, millions of hens in Ahold Delhaize’s supply chain are trapped in cages so small they cannot fully spread their wings. Day after day, year after year, these animals live in extreme confinement, denied movement, denied comfort, denied even the most basic natural behaviors.
Ahold Delhaize promised to end this abuse by 2025, but then delayed that deadline to 2032, despite condemnation from animal welfare experts, consumer rejection, and the availability of cage-free alternatives.
This suffering is entirely preventable. Pauline van der Meer Mohr is allowing it to happen.

Pauline van der Meer Mohr’s Corporate Roles and Influence
Pauline van der Meer Mohr is Chair of the Supervisory Board of Ahold Delhaize, with significant authority over the company’s priorities and governance.
She also holds senior roles at NN Group, ASM, and serves on the St. Gallen Board Retreat Advisory Board, where she is presented as a model of ethical corporate leadership.
Her inaction on caged hens does not exist in isolation. Every institution that continues to elevate her leadership now shares in the reputational risk.
