Arizona GOVERNOR’S DECISIONS threatens animals
Governor Katie Hobbs has delayed Arizona’s regulation mandating cage-free eggs until 2034. This decision poses a setback for the state’s animal protections, impacting millions of hens that will have to remain confined in 67-square-inch cages—a space so small, they can’t even spread their wings.
The financial justification doesn’t address the real issue: avian flu, something that could worsen if hens remain in cages.
This delay contradicts previous commitments to improve hen living conditions and undermines efforts to eliminate cruel practices in the egg industry.
