Keep dangerous language out of the Farm Bill
URGENT UPDATE – July 30, 2026
The “Save Our Bacon” Act (SOB) is the most destructive piece of legislation for animals in U.S. history. And it could be passed by Congress in the upcoming Farm Bill. Not only would the Save Our Bacon Act wipe out animal protection laws across the country—like bans on caging pigs—it would also prevent new laws protecting farmed animals.
There likely will be a vote in the Senate Ag Committee next week on including Save Our Bacon in the Senate Farm Bill. Your Senators need to hear from you now.
Let your representatives know you oppose any language in the upcoming bill that puts animals at risk!
What would the current Farm Bill allow?

Pregnant pigs would be forced back into cages so small they couldn’t even turn around or take more than a step forward or backward.

Newborn calves will live a life chained behind metal bars to prevent them from moving and keep their flesh lean for veal.

It took decades to pass laws that provide even the most basic protections to some farmed animals. Now, Congress is trying to erase that progress to prioritize meat and dairy profits, but we will not let it happen.
