Hi BCG Team,

I'm writing because I'm pretty concerned about a situation that deals with the ethical leadership and responsibility of your board.

I've just found out that Amanda Sourry, who has ties to Boston Consulting Group, is also part of Kroger's board. It's worth noting that Kroger recently took a decision to ditch its commitment to cage-free eggs. That means millions of hens are stuck in really tiny cages where they can't even spread their wings fully. This hasn't sat well with customers, investors and others who were expecting them to maintain decent animal welfare standards.

When leaders from big-name companies like BCG get involved with decisions like this one that look as if they're going against basic ethical commitments, it really makes you wonder how aligned these people are with the core values such as accountability and integrity that global firms are supposed to stand for.

It may be time to cut ties with Amanda Sourry. Having accountable leaders is super important if we want our businesses to keep being trusted and known for sticking with their ethical responsibilities.
